Privacy Policy
Effective October 17, 2026
Yoink is operated by Yoink Technologies LLC ("Yoink," "we," "us"). This policy explains what we collect when you use yoinkgolf.com and the Yoink app, why we collect it, and the choices you have. Questions go to hello@yoinkgolf.com.
What we collect
- Account details. Your email address, which you use to sign in.
- Your watches and settings. The courses you watch and your filters (days, times, players, holes, price), plus settings such as quiet hours, mute and theme.
- Notification details. If you turn on notifications, the push subscription your browser gives us, or in the iPhone app the device token Apple gives us, so we can deliver alerts to your device.
- Mobile phone number. Only if you choose text alerts. We also keep a record of when you agreed to receive texts and verified the number.
- Alert history. Which tee-time alerts we sent you and how (push, text), so we don't send the same one twice and can show them on your Alerts tab.
- Referral and promo details. Invite codes you use or share and promo codes you redeem.
- Location, only when you ask. If you tap a feature like "Find courses near me," your browser or phone shares your approximate location to sort nearby courses. It is used on your device for that search and is not stored on our servers.
- Basic technical data. Like most websites, our hosting providers log standard request information (such as IP address, browser type and pages requested) to keep the service running and secure.
How we use it
- To watch the tee sheets you choose and alert you when a matching time opens.
- To run your account: sign-in, settings, alert history, referrals and promos.
- To send service emails, such as a welcome note and help turning on notifications. We do not send tee-time alerts by email.
- To keep Yoink secure, fix problems and understand which features people use, in aggregate.
We do not sell your personal information. We use Meta's ad measurement tool as described under Ads on Facebook and Instagram, and you can opt out of it at any time.
Text message alerts
Text alerts are optional and off until you add a mobile number in Settings, agree to receive texts and confirm the number with a one-time code. We use your number only to send the tee-time alerts you asked for and messages about your text-alert setup. Message frequency varies with your watches. Message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help or STOP to opt out at any time. You can also turn texts off or remove your number in Settings.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties, except service providers that help us deliver the messages (such as our messaging provider and wireless carriers).
See the SMS Terms for the full text-alert program details.
Who we share it with
We share information only with service providers that help us run Yoink, under agreements that limit their use of it to providing those services:
- Supabase — database and sign-in
- Vercel and DigitalOcean — hosting
- Twilio — text messages and phone number verification
- Resend — service emails
- Your browser's push service (for example Apple, Google or Mozilla) and, for the iPhone app, Apple Push Notification service — delivering push notifications
- Meta — measuring our Facebook and Instagram ads (see below)
When paid plans launch, payments will be handled by a payment processor; we will not store your full card number. We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect the rights and safety of Yoink or others, or as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, in which case this policy continues to apply to your information.
Booking a tee time
Yoink doesn't book tee times. When you tap an alert you go to the course's own booking page, and anything you enter there is handled under that course's or booking provider's own policies.
Ads on Facebook and Instagram
We advertise Yoink on Facebook and Instagram. To learn which ads lead to sign-ups, yoinkgolf.com and the Yoink app use the Meta Pixel, a measurement tool from Meta Platforms, Inc. It can tell Meta that you viewed a page, asked for a sign-in code, created an account, saved your first course or turned alerts on, together with standard browser data such as your IP address, browser type and Meta's cookies. We never send Meta your email address, your phone number or the courses you watch. Meta may combine this with information it already has to measure and improve ad delivery, under its own Privacy Policy.
We also save which ad or link first brought you to Yoink (its campaign tags) with your account, so we can measure our ads ourselves.
Under some state privacy laws, using the Meta Pixel may count as "sharing" personal information for targeted advertising. You can opt out. Browsers that send a Global Privacy Control signal are opted out automatically, or use this button on each browser you use:
Done. This browser won't load the Meta Pixel.
Cookies and local storage
We use your browser's local storage to keep you signed in and remember preferences like your theme and market. Unless you opt out, the Meta Pixel described above also sets Meta's own cookies on yoinkgolf.com.
How long we keep it
We keep your account information while your account is active. Alert history is kept as long as it's useful for avoiding duplicate alerts and showing your recent alerts. If you remove your phone number, we stop using it immediately. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete your personal information within 30 days, except where we must keep something to meet a legal obligation.
Your choices and rights
- Change your watches and settings, mute alerts, set quiet hours, or turn off push and text alerts at any time in the app.
- Reply STOP to any text to stop text messages.
- Delete your account at any time in the Yoink app (Settings, then Delete my account). That removes your watches, alert history and sign-in right away.
- Email hello@yoinkgolf.com to access, correct or delete your information. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state privacy laws, and we will honor them.
Security
We use industry-standard safeguards, including encrypted connections and access controls on our database. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and limit who can access it.
Children
Yoink is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we'll update the date above and, where appropriate, let you know in the app or by email.
